About me

I see individuals who feel stuck in their lives for a whole variety of reasons. Maybe you are stuck in a particular time, place or experience from a past trauma; maybe you are struggling to move forward in your life; or maybe you are stuck in unhealthy behavioural patterns. Whatever brings you to therapy, my specialty is a deep exploration of all the factors that are currently holding you back.

To do this, I develop long-term supportive relationships with my clients and work in an open-ended way, rather than exclusively trying to “fix” the immediate problem. I use my strong expertise in psychotherapeutic theory, alongside a caring and patient approach, to help people address their challenges at a level they can’t reach on their own.

I pride myself on my ability to help people feel at ease, even when discussing distressing feelings or experiences. I am skilled in creating a safe and nurturing environment for those who are unsure or nervous about therapy. My work is always led by the client’s needs, and my “integrative” style of psychotherapy means that I get a full understanding of the person, and adapt my methods to suit the individual.

Qualifications and Experience

I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, meaning that I am trained in a full range of psychotherapeutic techniques and modalities. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Minster Centre, and an MA in Integrative Psychotherapy from Middlesex University. I am a registered member of the BACP (registration number 378249) and an accredited member of the UKCP (registration number: 2011170854) abide by the BACP Code of Ethics and the UKCP Code of Ethics and Professional Practice.

I have many years of experience in a range of settings, including in NHS funded services, psychiatric wards and within private psychotherapy services. I have extensive experience in working clients who have experienced anxiety, bereavement, career burnout, childlessness/childfree-by choice, neurodiversity (with a particular specialism with ADHD) and relationship issues (including clients in non-monogamous relationships). I also specialise in supporting first-time clients who are new to counselling and psychotherapy.

What to Expect

Fundamentally, therapy is a confidential, non-judgmental space where people can speak about anything they want to with a professional who is there to listen and enable them to gain greater insight into themselves. I offer both counselling and psychotherapy models. Counselling generally refers to work that is time-limited, which focuses on fixed goals. Psychotherapy is usually more open-ended and longer-term and involves a deeper exploration into the unconscious, as well as earlier formative experiences.

Therapy is not a ‘‘one size fits all’’ activity. People come to therapy with different goals in mind and use the therapy space in different ways. The agenda of each session is always set by the client. Clients may use the session to reflect on their week, address ongoing themes in their lives or explore their current emotions and thoughts. In these sessions, I use questions, challenges and interpretations to guide the work. I also use more practical interventions, such as psychological education, to aid clients to understand their emotions, thought patterns and experiences.

The following video from The School of Life is a useful resource for first-time clients in articulating what to expect from psychotherapy.

Location and Fees

I see clients online (via Zoom), and while my practice is based in London, I work with clients based in locations all over the world. I also have an in person practice is located on Seven Sisters Road (N4), overlooking Finsbury Park. The sessions take place in a comfortable and quiet setting with disabled access to the building. The practice is a one-minute walk from Manor House station and a 10-minute walk from Finsbury Park station. There are also regular buses from Wood Green, Turnpike Lane, Camden, Euston, King’s Cross and Central London that stop directly outside the practice.

Please note that I currently only have a waiting list for new clients, with the earliest expected availability being June (which will be online only).

My fee is £75 per session. I currently accept AXA, Aviva and Vitality insurance.
